South African President Jacob Zuma has been keeping South Africans on their toes regarding his next move, as there has been no official response from the presidency on whether he is resigning anytime soon.
There has been mounting pressure particularly from within the ANC to have him recalled, and their National Executive Committee (NEC) resolved on Monday to have him recalled as the head of state. ANC Secretary General Ace Magashule said that he was notified that President Zuma wanted to hold a press conference and this was still yet to be confirmed from the President’s Office.

Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa is now the President of the ANC after he narrowly beat Zuma’s ex-wife Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma at their December congress and many high ranking members of the party wanted him to take the reigns as the Head of State replacing Zuma. South Africa will have to wait and see if President Zuma resigns willingly or will be forced to step down through parliament.
