FNB Launches eWallet eXtra Mobile Banking

FNB in its commitment to providing innovative banking solutions have introduced their new mobile banking solution – eWallet eXtra which seeks to capture the multitudes of unbanked South Africans.

The eWallet eXtra is a mobile bank account that allows you to use your smartphone to open a bank account without necessarily visiting your nearest branch, and it comes with no monthly fees. The facility will only require your full name and ID number to open the account from your phone, and once opened you will be able to transact, check balances and transaction history and so forth.

The FNB eWallet eXtra will suit individuals who may be irregular income earners such as freelancers, seasonal workers, part-time workers etc. Its daily spend limit will be R3 000 and a monthly limit of R24 000.

The facility will be able to send and receive money from people and will store funds for unlimited periods of time and will act like a normal bank account. You will be able to also pay accounts, buy prepaid airtime, data or electricity. The eWallet eXtra will be available to the public from June 2018.
